I loved taking this wonderful journey with Judith Dunbar from the impressionable age of fourteen in 1935 straight through the years of World War II. Judith learns so much about what it means to have a place in the world, a home to return to, loved ones to reunite with and hold close to the heart.

I couldn’t help sympathizing with this young lady when first introduced to her. As her mother and young sister prepare to join her father in the distant port of Singapore, Judith is about to begin an adventure of her own as she stays behind to enroll in boarding school.
