I can gratefully say that today I had the special privilege of asking Nohelani some in-depth questions about her music career, reaching back all the way to her band Golden Throat up to her most recent release, Pulelehua. What I've learned from our conversation is this: Nohelani was ahead of her time.

She's a pioneer of contemporary Hawaiian music, one of the first artists to truly push the boundaries of local music in the 70s. But I'll let her tell you about it.
